Dave Hebeda

Learn to work smarter, not harder, like Dave Hebeda, who balances a successful career in finance, his many hobbies, and his time spent with his loving family all by following some simple time-management techniques.

If it weren’t for time management, Dave Hebeda wouldn’t be able to be a certified personal accountant (CPA), the Corporate Controller for Vein Clinics of America., a father, and a husband, while still having time to play the guitar, play poker, and fish for Muskie.

For this reason, Dave Hebeda wants to share with you some of his time-management techniques, so that you, too, can lead a thriving career while enjoying all of the people and hobbies you love.

Prioritize: Perhaps the most obvious time-management tip is to learn to prioritize your to-do list so that the most important tasks are at the top. Getting these tasks out of the way will already make your day a success and you can move onto the other items on your list feeling good and ready to succeed.

Wake Up Early: While Dave Hebeda would also emphasize that it’s important to get about 7-8 hours of sleep per night so that you’re well-rested to attack the next day with energy, he recommends that you also make it a point to wake up early so that you leave yourself enough time to complete what you need to get done each day.

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff: Dave Hebeda believes that you shouldn’t allow unimportant details drag you down throughout your day. Focus on the bigger picture of the task at hand and understand that mistakes and stumbles are going to happen along the way in life. What’s important is how your respond to that adversity.

Break Up To-Do List: Looking at a to-do list in its totality can be overwhelming and typically isn’t a great idea when it comes to time management. If you break your to-do list up into sections with similar tasks or tasks that make sense to be completed together, you can save yourself a lot of time and stress.

Stay Healthy: Accomplishing goals and still having enough time to have some fun can be tiring, but staying healthy and finding time to regularly exercise can make it much easier. A healthy diet and working out will help improve your energy, mood, and keep you motivated to keep up the good work. The better you get at time management, the easier it will be to find time to exercise.
